vinyl pleasure
Pumped up my vinyl collection today with 5 new EPs. Singaporean Sixties!
2 Rita Chao EPs (ahhh.. she does a Francoise Hardy cover, in Mandarin no less)
1 Rita Chao and Sakura EP
1 Naomi and The Boys EP (their first record!)
and weirdly, a French ye-ye EP.
What is a French ye-ye record doing in a dark, dusty, junk shop in Singapore? The ironic thing is that this French record was priced higher than the Singaporean ones. The same Rita Chao records which I got for $10 each, are highly in demand on Ebay, and have been bootleged on cult cds like the Girls In The Garage series.
But then, the grass is always greener on the other side.
